Welcome ~ Christ is Risen!

In the tradition of our Great Lent page, we are pleased to offer this new section designed to take us from Our Lord's Resurrection, through His Glorious Ascension, to the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Feasts of All Saints, the Apostles' Fast, and up to Saints Peter and Paul.

This liturgically rich and spiritually dynamic period in the life of the Church is characterized by the excitement of spreading the Good News of the Resurrection, of proclaiming Jesus Christ's victory over death, sin and the devil, and of preparation for apostolic labors to "make disciples of all nations" - however humble those labors may seem to us to be.

For many of us, there is a temptation to fall into a slump after the rigors and effort of the Great Fast, a sort of "Post-Lenten Blues," where, in spite of our best intentions, we take advantage of the relaxation from the many and longer services, and the disciplines of prayer and fasting, and "take a break," as it were, sometimes losing our focus and even any gains we made during Great Lent. How to retain that focus, and keep a keen edge, even while being buoyed up by and fully embracing the joy and brightness of the Paschal Season?

Hopefully some of these recordings, links, books and resources will help us to do just that, so that this Pascha, we may — like Luke and Cleopas on the journey to Emmaeus — experience the burning of our hearts within us as Christ opens the Scriptures to us, as we recognize Him in the breaking of the bread, and as we excitedly share with others our own experience of the Risen Lord!

Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
